Leon’s Sod Farm Inc. began in 1960 when Samuel Leon purchased a 42-acre field crop and chicken farm in Kingwood Township. In 1968, he started cultivating sod on just 3 acres of his farm. As luck would have it, the product was an instant success. The demand went up high and within four years Leon's Sod Farm Inc. increased sod production to 50 acres. And the rest as they is history! Today our sod farm stretches over 800 acres, producing sod on 450 acres.
